England

Wow, our trip to England was so amazing! I already miss it: the temp, the countryside, the city. Let me make this clear. NOT THE SODA!!! their soda doesn't have corn syrup in it or much carbonation, therefore making it taste flat. It was disgusting!!! The first thing I did after we got back was drink a large cherry coke at chick-fil-a. Heaven. I edited a few pictures out of the 548 that i took in all. yes i know, that's a lot. I figured I would post all the edited ones on here for whoever reads this blog (if anyone does).

Off To Jolly Old England

Ok Internet...I'm mere hours away from flying off to England!!! I cannot wait! I've been going over my packed things again and again tonight making sure that I have everything. Our flight leaves from Newport News at about 3pm tomorrow and we fly up to Philadelphia where we are on about a 5.5 to 6 hour layover. We might get to go out and explore the city a little. I'm hoping to get to go to my favorite cheesesteak place in Liberty Square at the Bourse. Stay tuned for pictures because I will put some up every night if I can! Our flight from Philadelphia to London leaves around 10pm I think and we will be getting to London at about 4:30 our time, around 9:30 in London. Right after we get there we will drive to Oxford to take a tour of Christ Church so we can hang around with Elizabeth and Mom. Also, scenes from several of the Harry Potter movies were filmed in Christ Church! How exciting!!! I'm hoping to be able to tour the Cotswolds, which is what my mom and Mrs. Fletcher did today. They had a personal tour guide named Ginny. They saw all these old buildings with thatched roofs and walked around in the countryside. I am so excited but nervous too because I have never gone out of the country before. Oh well. I'm going to leave you at this. I will attempt to post something whilst in England but I cannot guarantee anything. I will most likely be either sleeping or out somewhere at all hours of the day AND night. Anyways...GOODNIGHT!!!!!!

Blah Blah Blah

I wanted to start out with stating how stupid KE$HA's song, Blah Blah Blah is. Here, take a look for yourself:

Ok, well I am reaching that point where I am really missing my sister. It's about 11 days until my dad, Rachel & I leave for England. I think the first thing that I do when I see her is run up to her and hug her for about 5 minutes! I don't know what I am going to do when Rachel leaves this fall. It's going to be very strange with just my parents and I alone in the house. Just 2 months 'til she graduates. *sigh*

Well, I am beginning my Junior research paper and I think I have chosen a very interesting topic: the 9/11 conspiracy theories. I think I will end up trying to prove that the evidence is too overwhelming to even think that our government was involved or that missiles hit the towers and the Pentagon. I am currently reading a book called Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can't Stand Up To The Facts, which was put out by the magazine, Popular Mechanics. It pretty much goes through every mainstream theory and gives evidence against it and explains why it is not true. I admit before I started reading it I was convinced that it wasn't a plane that hit the Pentagon and that it was explosives along with the planes hitting the towers that caused the collapses. Although now I have heard both sides of the story and I choose to believe the anti-conspiracy story. The paper is going to be due around the end of April which will be adding to my already piled up stress this year (although I know it's not as great as college kids...especially Elizabeth).

It will be nice to be able to take a break for a little more than a week. We are leaving in about 11 days to fly over to England. We are flying out of Newport News up to Philadelphia. Later that night we are taking an overnight flight to Heathrow. We will then probably be picked up by my mom who will have been there for about a week already and we will drive for about an hour to some military base where we are staying in a TLF sort of house called "The Sterling House". We get 3 days to explore London which I am looking foward to doing. I really want to go to Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum so I can take pictures next to all these famous people and make people back here jealous =D. I'm not sure what we are going to do after those 3 days. Oh well, at least I know we will all have a lot of fun.

Farewell Internet until next time. Off I go again to Harry Potter weekend on ABC Family.

2012 Election

I know it's only 2010, but the talk of the 2012 election is rampant and the beginnings of campaigning for it will be at the earliest late this year maybe early 2011. As you know, the wonderful Sarah Palin confirmed that as of now, she is planning on running for the 2012 ticket; however, she says that if another Republican steps up that she believes will offer more to America, then she will step out of their way. Also, Bob McDonnel kind of hinted to one of my friend's parents (who were the photographers hired for his Governor election and the events surrounding his inauguration) that if he did run in 2012 and he won, then he would hire them again to do his Presidential election. I think that they are both going to run for office, and one of them will most likely become the Republican candidate for 2012. If this happens I would hope that the one who is selected will ask the other to be the Vice Presidential candidate. I think either Sarah Palin or Bob McDonnel would make an excellent choice to replace Obama, because...come on...do you really think that he will be re-elected for a second term? If he does I will be EXTREMELY surprised. And I can assure you that I will NOT be voting for Mr. Obama. This brings me to my next point. My last post I talked about respecting Obama. Ok, I think that I can disagree with him and discuss things that he does that I don't like without being disrespectful. Ok, I was just trying to get across that what I'm about to say is not hypocritical. When he ran on the Democratic ticket in '08, I think that the Black community of America saw that a black man was running for office so they decided to vote for him just so we could have a black president, because this would be a great leap foward for black Americans. Don't get me wrong, I fully support having a black president, I despise all that racist crap that people are STILL holding on to. GET OVER IT! I just think that his skin color is the major factor that decided the election. The thing is, now a lot of those people that voted for him are regretting it because of things that he has and will do, mainly in the area of healthcare. And the congress is pretty dumb right now. Did you know that they don't have to follow any national healthcare bills that are passed? They are safe where they are because they are the Congress and they are more important than us. If they were really representitives of us, they would follow the same laws and have the same healthcare as us, then this healthcare bill wouldn't even be in the works anymore. Virginia and other states are currently working on passing laws that say that you won't be required to buy health insurance. What will happen is that if these laws become active and for some strange reason Obama's bill is passed, this will cause a Constitutional crisis. Either the states are going to sue Congress or Congress is going to sue the states which pass the laws. I'll look foward to seeing how this all plays out, and GUESS WHAT! I'm going to just be entering the political arena when this all comes in to motion.

A little bit of worry...

Sometimes I ask God, "Why would you let us have such a president as Obama during this time in our country? It's the last thing that we need." I think I'm experiencing the same feelings that my mom felt when Bill Clinton was president back in 1993 - 2000. I struggle daily with feeling an intense hatred towards Obama for what he's done in the past year in office, and for what he's doing now and also for what I'm assuming that he might do. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says clearly that we are asked to pray for our leaders and those in authority over us: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; FOR KINGS, AND ALL THAT ARE IN AUTHORITY; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." I believe that it is ok to disagree with our president; however I must respect him and what he says unless of course it speaks directly against what God says in the Bible.

On Wednesday in youth group, JP presented the Owl City music video for Fireflies and read Adam Young's testimony and why he wrote that song. He said that he suffers from insomnia but mostly because he worries all the time and he talked about how the Bible tells us not to worry. It tells us to cast our worries and petitions on God and He will take care of us according to how He sees fit. I realized that I've been worrying too much about our country and president and it is not acceptable.

on a different note....please enjoy this lovely trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One

2012

I just saw the 2012 movie again...it made me realize how stupid this all is. Yeah, people are going to freak out when 12-21-12 comes around, but hey, I'm going to Heaven, so if anything happens that might exterminate the human race, then I'm set...

Haha...yeah a short post
